In keeping with the themes of perspective and how people respond differently to cataclysmic events, Last Light centres on a group that has accepted their fate but evokes defiance by joining together in celebration. The song references a return to infancy like innocence, self-reliance, and a human spirited stubbornness to be oppressed. Last Light is the soundtrack to a last stand that chooses togetherness over violence or anger toward something out of our control.
